Surrogate Pre-screening:

1. 1. 1. This is the first step we take to ensuring you’re offered only qualified surrogates. Our pre-screening consists of:
         1. Checking that the surrogate lives in a surrogacy-friendly state.
         2. Verifying that the surrogate not only meets but exceeds the age, BMI, and pregnancy-history requirements established by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
         3. Ensuring the surrogate has not used any medications or substances that could impact the chances of a successful embryo transfer.

Beyond this, we also check:

First Stage:

1. 1. 1. Stable Living Conditions: Surrogates must be able to demonstrate that they live in a stable environment.
      2. Strong Support System: Beyond their partner/spouse (if applicable) they must be able to show that they have family and/or friends that are there to support them.
      3. Background Check: Surrogates and their partner/spouse (if applicable) must be willing to undergo a criminal background check. We do this to protect the Surrogate, yourself, the child, and New Dawn Surrogacy staff.

Second Stage:

1. 1. 1. Medical: Surrogates must be in good health! We do an in-depth review of the surrogate’s past pregnancies and medical records, as well as ensuring the surrogate is thoroughly screened via blood tests and other methods prior to receiving full clearance from your IVF clinic of choice.
      2. Psychological: Surrogates and their partner/spouse (if applicable) must be willing to undergo a psychological evaluation to ensure their readiness.
      3. Surrogate Communication: Surrogates must be willing to respect the your communication preferences (just as we require you to do with them). It will be important to pay attention to this during the matching process, so that you and the Surrogate match based on shared communication preferences. For a lot of Surrogates, frequent communication will play a massive role in their motivation for the journey. Most Surrogates will want to speak with you often to get the most out of this process, so we request that you be willing to communicate with your Surrogate at least once a week – or as otherwise mutually agreed to prior to the journey.

Final Stage:

1. 1. 1. Legal: Once medical, psychological, and social checks are all cleared – we then move on to the legal clearance. This will be orchestrated through your attorneys and the surrogate’s attorneys. Together, you will work together to meet the complete needs of your surrogate – while ensuring you are still meeting the basic compensation and support options we at New Dawn Surrogacy require all surrogates to be provided. We will work to ensure the surrogate is able to complete everything, through their attorney, in a timely manner. Our goal is to protect both sides during this, and ensure we allow for transparent third-party negotiation through both side’s attorneys.
