Step 1: Application
The first step in becoming a surrogate is filling out an application. This application is short, and is used to help screen all of our surrogates to ensure they meet our requirements.
The path to surrogacy is an exciting one! Below, we've created a brief overview of our surrogate process here at New Dawn Surrogacy. We will be with you every step of the way to ensure you're taken care of and that all of your questions are answered.
Step 1: Application
The first step in becoming a surrogate is filling out an application. This application is short, and is used to help screen all of our surrogates to ensure they meet our requirements.
Step 2: Consultation & Profile Creation
During this step you will have a call with our Surrogate Professional who will conduct an interview with you, as well as answer any initial questions you may have. Following this, we will also assist you in the creation of your Surrogate Profile. This profile will be how Intended Parents are matched with you, and will be accompanied with an in-depth questionnaire.
Step 3: Background Checks
Background checks (including general, criminal, and child abuse) are a standard part of the process. If you're concerned about something in your history, please reach out confidentially. We're here to support you and discuss your individual situation.
Step 4: Psychological Evaluation
As part of the process you undergo a psychological evaluation through a licensed psychologist which will cover a wide array of topics. Your partner will also be included in this discussion, so they can share their support for your decision and understand their role in this amazing journey
Step 5: Matching with Intended Parents
Finding the perfect Intended Parent match is a crucial aspect of your surrogacy journey. We'll present you with detailed profiles of potential Intended Parents who align with your criteria. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know them before making a decision you feel confident about.
Step 6: Medical Evaluation & Legal
An important step in your journey is the medical screening, which takes place at your Intended Parents' chosen IVF clinic. This step can take 1-2 days due to varying processing times. This happens before any legal contracts are signed, giving you time to consider all the information and feel confident in your decision to move forward.
Step 7: Medication & Embryo Transfer
The first step in preparing for your embryo transfer is a medication phase, typically lasting about 12 weeks. The IVF clinic will provide detailed instructions and a calendar for each medication, making sure you feel informed and prepared. The transfer itself involves a 3-5 day visit to the clinic, and they'll discuss any necessary rest or activity adjustments for after the procedure.
Step 8: Pregnancy & Birth
The incredible gift you’ve given won’t end at birth, nor will our support for you. We recognize the complex emotions that may come – a mix of pride, fulfillment, and perhaps a touch of sadness. These feelings are natural, and at New Dawn Surrogacy we’re here to offer you the space and care you need as you transition to this next stage.
