Surrogate Requirements
What It Takes
The path to becoming a surrogate can be an incredibly rewarding one, but it can also be a demanding one. We strictly adhere to the requirements set forth by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, as do the doctors we work with. Additionally, we have worked with several fertility clinics and medical professionals to strengthen a few of our requirements beyond those suggested by the ASRM, to ensure we are able to offer you the best care possible.
All surrogates we work with must meet all of the requirements listed on this page, as they have been established in order to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of the baby you will be carrying.
You must:
- Be between 21 and 39 years old.
- Have a BMI below 31. To calculate your BMI, you can do so HERE.
- Have given birth at least once, but not more than 4 times.
- Hold custody of a child that you have given birth to, and be raising the child.
- Have given birth within the past 7 years.
- Have had no more than 2 C-Sections.
- Have had smooth previous pregnancies without complications.
- You must reside within the US, and be either a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
You must not:
- Reside within Louisiana or New York.
- Be on federal assistance of any type. This includes Section 8, public housing, food stamps (SNAP), WIC, etc…
- Smoke or vape, abuse alcohol, or use drugs (this includes drugs that are legal in some states, such as marijuana).
- Have a criminal record.
- Have a history of mental illness, nor be on medication (including antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication).
Your partner must not:
